Nodeul Island

Nodeul Island is a small island in the Han River connected by pedestrian bridge, with an open rooftop deck and green space that offers an unobstructed westward view over the river -- one of the more open, uncluttered sunset vantage points in central Seoul, with fewer crowds than the riverside parks.

The area beneath and around Banpo Bridge, part of Banpo Hangang Park, offers a sunset view framed by the bridge structure itself, and transitions well into the evening Rainbow Fountain show once the sun goes down -- a good choice if you want to combine sunset with the fountain display afterward.

Mangwon riverbank

The Mangwon stretch of the Han River, on the western side of the city, tends to be quieter and less crowded than the more central Banpo or Yeouido areas, offering a calmer, more local-feeling sunset spot, especially if paired with a stop in Mangwon-dong's market and cafes beforehand.

Getting to each spot

Nodeul Island is reached via Nodeul Station on Line 9, connected by a short pedestrian bridge to the island itself. Banpo Bridge and its surrounding park are accessible from Express Bus Terminal Station or Sinbanpo Station, both an easy walk to the riverbank. Mangwon is reached via Mangwon Station on Line 6, close to the neighborhood's market and cafe streets, making it simple to combine a sunset visit with a meal beforehand rather than treating it as a standalone stop.
