Tip: Delivery to a hotel usually needs the front desk or lobby listed as the address -- add a note asking the courier to call or message on arrival, since many hotels don't allow couriers past the lobby.

What B-Mart and similar services actually deliver

B-Mart, run by Baedal Minjok (Baemin), and similar quick-commerce features inside apps like Yogiyo operate their own small dark-store warehouses stocked with convenience-store-style items -- snacks, drinks, toiletries, some produce -- and promise delivery within roughly 20-30 minutes, separate from ordering a cooked meal from a restaurant partner. This is a different service from standard restaurant food delivery, even though it often runs inside the same app.

Setting it up as a short-term visitor

  • These apps generally require a Korean phone number for account verification and a Korean payment method or a card that passes local verification, which can be a real barrier for a short trip.
  • Some apps offer an English interface or a tourist mode, but underlying account verification requirements haven't fully caught up in every case -- check current signup requirements before assuming it will work.
  • If direct signup fails, ask hotel staff whether they can place an order on your behalf, which is a common workaround at tourist-friendly hotels.

Using it well once you're set up

Delivery fees and minimum order amounts apply, and they vary by how close you are to the nearest dark store.

  1. Check the delivery fee and estimated time before ordering -- both are shown upfront and vary by location and time of day.
  2. Set your hotel's exact address and room number clearly, including any building-entry instructions.
  3. Keep a fallback plan (walking to a nearby convenience store) in mind, since delivery isn't guaranteed to cover every hotel location.

Delivery zones are tied to the nearest dark-store location, so coverage can be excellent in dense central neighborhoods like Hongdae or Gangnam and considerably thinner in more residential or outlying areas -- check the app's coverage map for your specific address before assuming it will work everywhere in Seoul.
