Read the five city cards as separate trips
Korea is compact on a map, but the same day can feel different in Seoul, Busan, Jeju, Incheon and Gyeongju. The cards above are point forecasts for each city center, not one national forecast. Seoul and Incheon may be close yet differ because Incheon is coastal. Busan can be breezier or milder than inland destinations. Jeju conditions can shift quickly, especially when wind affects flights, ferries or exposed walking routes. Gyeongju sightseeing often means more time outdoors than a short urban transfer.
Compare the apparent temperature, rain chance and wind together. A comfortable air temperature can still feel tiring in strong sun and humidity. A moderate rain probability does not tell you when rain will arrive or how intense a local shower may be. Open the official forecast before any long outdoor route, mountain walk, island transfer or late return.
Forecast first, official alert second
This page uses Open-Meteo to provide a fast planning snapshot. It is useful for comparing cities, but it is not an emergency-warning service. Before departure, check the Korea Meteorological Administration severe-weather status in English. KMA warnings cover hazards such as heavy rain, strong wind, heat, cold, snow and typhoons, and the affected area may be narrower than the city label shown here.
If an alert is active, use the official affected-area and effective-time information rather than interpreting the icon on a third-party forecast. Recheck after waking, before a long transfer and before the last practical indoor or transport backup disappears. Forecasts and warnings can change during the day.
A practical same-day checklist
- Heat or humidity: shorten exposed walking segments, carry water and schedule indoor breaks. Apparent temperature is the more useful card value.
- Rain: check timing and radar through KMA, protect passports and electronics, and avoid relying on one outdoor attraction.
- Wind: pay extra attention for Jeju, coastal walks, ferries, observation decks and airport transfers.
- Cold: use removable layers; station platforms, evening waits and coastal areas may feel colder than indoor-centered plans.
- Air travel or ferries: weather information does not confirm operations. Check the airline, airport or ferry operator directly.
