Luggage storage in Seoul: lockers, counters and delivery

Published August 22, 2026 · Reviewed August 27, 2026 · Prices, locations and counter hours can change

Use a station locker for a short stop, staffed storage when you need human help, and delivery when carrying the bag would ruin the day. Always check the retrieval deadline and the station's closing time before paying.

Your three main options

T-Locker provides hourly lockers across Seoul subway stations. T-Luggage offers staffed storage and selected same-day delivery services at major stations. Hotels and private operators may also hold bags, but policies differ and some only serve current guests.

Choose the station strategically

The closest locker to your current position is not always the best one. Store the bag where you will naturally return: near your evening train, airport route or hotel. A locker inside a paid subway area can add an awkward extra fare or navigation step, so confirm its exact floor and exit side.

Seoul's current reference list names staffed T-Luggage points at Seoul Station, Hongik University, Jamsil, Myeong-dong, Gimpo International Airport and Jongno 3-ga. Branch lists can change, so confirm that the location appears as selectable on the live T-Luggage reservation screen before building an itinerary around a counter. Availability is not guaranteed, and large lockers can fill first on weekends, holidays and event days.

Before closing the door

  1. Check that the locker fits the bag without forcing it.
  2. Photograph the locker number and nearby sign.
  3. Save the receipt, access code or app confirmation.
  4. Confirm the extra-hour rule and maximum storage period.
  5. Set an alarm well before the station or counter closes.
Do not store: passports, essential medicine, cash, irreplaceable electronics, hazardous goods or anything you may urgently need. Official services publish prohibited-item rules; read them before payment.

Language and payment friction

Some locker interfaces or apps may be Korean-first. Prepare a translation app and a second payment method. If the machine fails after charging, photograph the screen, locker number and transaction, then use the contact information displayed at the site. Do not walk away without recording the exact location.

When delivery is worth it

Same-day luggage delivery can be useful between selected stations or between Seoul and Incheon Airport. It is not a last-minute guarantee: acceptance cutoffs, supported routes, bag dimensions and delivery windows matter. Verify the current service directly and keep valuables with you.

Make a retrieval plan before choosing storage

Work backward from the moment you need the bag again. Record your train, airport check-in or accommodation deadline, then subtract the walking time, station navigation, possible queue and a delay buffer. A locker that closes later is still a poor choice if retrieving it forces you to cross Seoul during the evening rush.

Save three details offline: the station name in Korean and English, the exit or concourse, and a photo showing the locker bank in its surroundings. A cropped locker-number photo is not enough when a large station has several locker areas. If another traveler will collect the bag, confirm whether the service allows that person to use the code or receipt.

Check fit and access before paying

Measure the longest side of a large suitcase before travel and compare it with the current locker dimensions shown at the machine or official service. Do not force a soft bag into a compartment if straps can catch in the door. Keep the access code private, and never photograph it in a public social post.

For a wheelchair, stroller or heavy suitcase, map the lift route as well as the locker. A locker may be technically close to a platform but separated by stairs or a long transfer corridor. Staffed storage can be the better option when lifting, language assistance or a reliable handover matters more than the lowest fee.

If the locker is full or will not open

  1. Do not keep retrying a payment without checking whether the first charge succeeded.
  2. Use the official contact shown on the locker bank and record the station, locker number, time and transaction.
  3. Ask station staff for the nearest staffed alternative or another locker zone.
  4. Keep enough time to take the bag to the hotel, terminal or airport yourself.
  5. For a missed retrieval deadline, contact the operator; do not assume the bag has been discarded.

Delivery handoff checklist

At drop-off, confirm the exact destination branch, recipient name, phone-contact requirement, delivery window and what happens after a delayed arrival. Photograph the bag condition and retain the claim ticket. An estimated delivery window should not be the only plan for a passport, medicine, flight connection or same-evening event outfit.

When sending a bag to accommodation, ask the property whether it accepts delivery before check-in and which guest name must appear. Use the same romanized reservation name when possible. For airport delivery, confirm the terminal and counter closing time directly with the current operator.
