AREX: the paid landside alternative

Both terminal stations are in the basement-level Transportation Centers. Follow signs for Airport Railroad/AREX, take the all-stop train one station in the correct direction, and exit at the other terminal. Incheon Airport currently publishes a six-minute ride and ₩1,050 fare.

Why the maglev is not your T2 transfer

The airport's current maglev page lists this route: Terminal 1, long-term parking, Joint Government Office, Paradise Hotel & Resort, Water Park and Yongyu. Terminal 2 is not on that route. The free service currently runs Tuesday–Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00 and closes on Mondays, Seollal and Chuseok day. It can be useful for its own route, but it cannot solve a wrong-terminal problem.

Also distinguish the public maglev from the airport's airside shuttle train. The shuttle train is part of specific secure transfer paths. It is not a public landside shortcut, and the official transfer instructions warn that some one-way movements cannot be reversed.

If the plan fails

• The shuttle has not arrived: recheck the route number and terminal direction, then use AREX if trains are operating.
