The rule that matters most
There is no single ticket rule for every K-pop concert in Korea. The promoter’s notice and the ticket seller’s event page control the sale, identity checks, pickup, cancellation and entry. Treat social posts and fan translations as helpful leads—not final authority.
1. Find the official sale
Start with the artist, agency, promoter or venue’s verified channel and follow its ticket link. Korea Tourism Organization information lists multilingual ticketing options that may include Interpark, Ticketlink, YES24 and Melon Ticket, but availability depends on the individual show. A search result or resale message is not proof that a seller is authorized.
- Confirm the exact performance date, city, venue and sales channel.
- Check whether there is a separate global booking page.
- Distinguish a fan-club presale, general sale, invitation event and travel package.
- Save the event notice as a PDF or screenshot for reference, while returning to the live notice for changes.
2. Match your account to your passport
Name matching can determine whether you can collect a ticket or enter. Use the name order and spelling requested by the seller, based on your valid passport. Do not assume a nickname, preferred English name or another person’s account will be accepted.
YES24 Global currently describes an eKYC process for selected “Verified Member Only” performances. Its official FAQ says eligible foreign visitors may need a foreign passport and face recognition, and recommends completing verification one or two days before sales rather than during peak traffic. That does not mean every YES24 event uses the same process—check the label on the specific performance.
3. Read pickup and entry rules before paying
Some tickets are mobile, some are shipped, and others require on-site pickup. Invitation events and named tickets may require the original passport plus a booking confirmation or winner email. Korea Tourism Organization’s Ticket to K-Vibe FAQ, for example, required winners to present a passport matching the winning name and the notification email. That is an event-specific example, not a universal concert rule.
- Check which ID is accepted and whether a photocopy is rejected.
- Check the pickup booth location and closing time.
- Verify whether the purchaser must attend.
- Look for age restrictions and rules for minors.
- Read bag-size, camera, battery, food and light-stick rules.
4. Treat resale as high risk
Unofficial resale may conflict with the event’s transfer and identity rules. Even a genuine ticket can be unusable if the purchaser’s name must match the attendee’s passport. Avoid sending money because a screenshot “looks real,” and never count on staff making an exception.
Koursea does not authenticate resale tickets or recommend private sellers. If official resale or ticket transfer exists, use only the method named by the organizer or ticket platform.
5. Plan the trip home before the show
Large concerts can overwhelm the nearest subway station, taxi pickup area and mobile network. Official visitor safety guidance for major Goyang concerts has advised allowing extra time, following staff directions and checking transport changes. The exact measures vary with each event.
- Save the venue name and address in Korean.
- Identify at least two nearby stations or official shuttle options.
- Check the last train for every transfer, not only the first line.
- Keep enough battery for navigation and your mobile ticket.
- Choose a visible meeting point in case your group loses signal.
- Do not stand in roads or block emergency access while waiting for a taxi.

6. At the venue
Arrive with time for queues, identity checks and merchandise pickup. Locate emergency exits and follow staff movement instructions. Korea Tourism Organization’s concert safety guidance tells visitors to move slowly with the crowd, avoid climbing structures or leaning on fences, and alert staff or call 119 in a dangerous or medical situation.
Merchandise lines may use a separate app, reservation slot or payment rule. Treat any schedule shown by fans as provisional until the promoter confirms it.

Can a foreign visitor buy K-pop concert tickets?
Often yes, but the available global platform, payment methods and verification requirements depend on the show. Follow the official event link rather than assuming the Korean and global sales are identical.
Do I always need my passport at the venue?
Not for every event, but many named-ticket, invitation, fan-club or verified-member events require identity matching. If the event notice asks for the original passport, bring it.
Can someone else collect my ticket?
Only when the event rules explicitly allow it. Purchaser-attendance and non-transfer rules are common enough that you should verify before purchasing for another person.
What if my name is reversed?
